Child labor is, of course, prohibited. Compliance with the standard is ensured through regular checks at every step of the production process: from the farm to washing, spinning, and dyeing.

Through a biotechnological process called Lanazym, the wool is treated with enzymes that reduce its tendency to felt and pill – while preserving all its natural properties.

Merino fibers have a spring-like structure, which makes them naturally resilient and highly elastic. They are also covered with a natural protective layer that prevents dirt from penetrating the fibers. The antibacterial properties of wool additionally reduce odor. Thanks to these self-cleaning qualities, it’s usually enough to simply air out merino clothing. If washing is necessary, Maximo knitwear can be easily machine-washed on a wool cycle at low temperatures. It won’t shrink or wrinkle!
