Alpaca Fino – RAS Certified

Alpaca Fino is a wonderfully soft yarn made from 100% baby alpaca – meaning particularly fine fibers. It has a DK weight making it a versatile all-rounder for cozy and soft knitting and crochet projects.

The fiber comes from the highlands of the Peruvian Andes and is spun and dyed locally for us right at the source.

Alpaca Fino is RAS certified (Responsible Alpaca Standard) – an internationally recognized standard that ensures responsible treatment of animals, the environment, and people throughout the entire supply chain. This certification applies to the new color palette: colors 01, 41, 43, and all shades from number 50 onward.

This 4-ply yarn delivers beautifully even stitch definition, making it ideal for both intricate textures and clean stockinette designs. The delicate alpaca halo adds a luxurious softness, while the yarn’s excellent resilience helps garments retain their shape and minimizes pilling over time.

Especially skin-friendly:

Alpaca Fino contains very little lanolin and is therefore well tolerated by many people with wool allergies. It's so soft it can be worn directly on the skin without causing itching.

Alpaca Fino is available in 26 shades – from natural white (color number 01, undyed) to soft pastels, rich burgundy, and deep gray tones.

Ideal for warm garments like sweaters and cardigans, as well as hats, scarves, and other accessories.

Our tip:

If you’d like to pair it with a another yarn, we recommend Alpaca Lace, Mohair Bliss, or Manada. They let you use slightly larger needles, create a soft, fluffy texture, and help reduce pilling on the main yarn.
